Crime and comedy are coming back in full force to CBS' schedule next season as the network re-embraces the genres that have performed best for it in recent years. After taking a creative detour last fall with outside-the-box concepts, CBS is adding some new procedurals and opening up another night of comedy. CBS will expand its successful Monday night sitcom lineup to Wednesdays, as expected. "The New Adventures of Old Christine," which the network renewed at the last minute on Tuesday, will launch the block. "Christine" is followed by newcomer "Project Gary," about a middle-class father played by Jay Mohr.
Since I'm a big fan of Numb3rs, the Eleventh Hour sounds interesting. Otherwise, I'm not impressed with the new offerings. Just glad my favorites CSI, NCIS and Numb3rs are returning.
Another new procedural is "The Mentalist," starring Simon Baker, about a deceptive celebrity psychic who puts his observational skills to better use working for law enforcement.
USA calls this program Psych. Ah well I'll probably check it and Eleventh Hour out anyway. I'm glad to see Numb3rs, Big Bang and How I Met Your Mother returning though.
I think Big Bang Theory was the only freshman series to survive. I'm glad it and HIMYM did. They are the only two sitcoms I watch.

I'll stick with Psych.

I'll watch "The Mentalist" just for Simon Baker. HOT, HOT, HOT!
The Eleventh Hour, sounds like a good show. The networks should revise some of the classic 1940-50 Mystery's there were some great Movies and TV shows.

That would be cool. But how to sell it in this high tech age?
Their story lines were so good, they almost sell themselves. Of course your talking to a woman that was a young girl in the fifties. Still there was a beauty about those old black and white movies. Love that stuff.
TV had Perry Mason, great TV.
I do realize people really like the high tech age movies, and that's good, but there is something about those by gone days of movies and TV.
I love old movies. Never watched much of old TV shows though.
Funnily enough I like old TV programs (mostly the comedies) and Golden Oldies Radio but do not really watch old movies.
That is funny FDB.
Check out Robert Mitchums 1950's mystery classics, also there is some great old black and white comedy movies. Film noir.
As for comedy in classic movies from the 1940's Cary Grant- Bringing up Baby very funny and he's done a lot, another one with Cary Grant was The Philadelphia Story another great movie. Katheryn Hepburn starred with him in this wonderful movie.
Another comedy team was The Thin Man Series, Comedy Mystery type movies they did a series of them. The stars in these movies were William Powell and Myrna Loy.
There are so many but check these out.
Thanks, I'll try.
Not really interested in any of the new offerings. I'm happy to see NCIS and Numb3rs returning and very disappointed that Moonlight got cancelled :(
I heard Moonlight might get resurrected for The CW.

Considering they killed Angel a year or so ago - that would just be wrong.
I totally agree. Angel was a much better show.
Thanks for the update Shalla. I'm not surprised.
Yawn. I'll watch Numb3rs, and that's about it. ExList looks stoopid. Yawn.
