A spokesman for the producers of "American Idol" said as much on Wednesday, after assertions by a former "American Idol" contestant that the weekly group numbers, which are performed near the beginning of each week's results show, appear to be using recorded vocals this year.

There were several newsviners who have commented in my articles the last few weeks that the group numbers were lipsynched. Good call!
